being a Belgian produced licenced copy circa 1860, with octagonal 4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML NEW MODEL US PATENTED' prefixed and suffixed with cross-key designs, radiused muzzle, bead fore-sight, plain cylinder with engraved scene of a steam locomotive crossing a bridge, Liege proofs, open iron frame stamped 'CAL 38', plated grip-straps and trigger-guard, two-piece smooth walnut grips, the whole retaining the majority of its original blued finish, plating and colour-hardening
